We're a Belgium Student Think Tank/Humanist/Freethought organisation located in the heart of Europe: Brussels. We preach and believe in the principle of Free Inquiry which is perhaps best formulated by a quotation of the French mathematician and philosopher Henri Poincaré: "Thinking must never submit itself, neither to a dogma, nor to a party, nor to a passion, nor to an interest, nor to a preconceived idea, nor to anything whatsoever, except to the facts themselves, because for it to submit to anything else would be the end of its existence." Open communication/open standards are very important for people who believe in this principle, because if you devote such high value to human thought, it' s almost repulsive lock those thoughts up in proprietary formats. What use is freedom of expression if only certain people, namely those who give money to some private company, can read those expressions. That's why we support ODF.
It is hard to give a concise overview of our activities since we exist for over 50 years. We mainly organize events such as debates, lectures, movie nights (mostly not Hollywood movies, but inspiring ones), protests, we write flyers/informative folders, books (some can be found on ebay sometimes). We get a lot of support from other organisations.
